What to do during a trip to Formentera
In Ulises Cat everything is ready for the beginning of the new season that will start next April the tenth with the resumption of our daily routes by boat to Formentera. If you haven´t visited our paradisiacal neighbouring island yet, note down these proposals for a first trip to Formentera and book your ticket right now.
1. La Savina port
After a nice boat trip that lasts 35 minutes, you will arrive at the unique port of Formentera. There you can rent bikes, motorbikes or cars. We offer you the chance to rent a car with a special price in Formentera. Before boarding our boat, ask our ground crew! If you just want to have a long day at the spectacular beach of Ses Illetes, you can choose to take a bus that departures from the port.
2. Sant Francesc Xavier
The first stop will be this charming village where you can find some of the most stylish shops such as Balafia and Full Moon. You cannot miss Sant Francesc Xavier´s temple, one of the best examples of the church—fortress of the Pitiusas Island (pay attention to the thickness of its walls and to the doors at the entrance, covered with iron sheets).
3. Cap Barbaria
The lighthouse erected at the end of this Cape, is one of the icons of the island. The views from this point are spectacular and the road that leads to this place also discovers one of the most beautiful rural landscapes of Formentera. If you feel like having a quick bath, and before going back to the main road of the island, it is worth going to the beautiful Cala Saona.
4. La Mola
The main road of Formentera ends at the top of this plateau, where it also awaits to be photographed the other famous lighthouse of the island. When this road starts to ascend you will find on the right a restaurant named El Mirador whose terrace offers the best view of Formentera itself and the coast of Ibiza.
5. Es Caló de Sant Agustí
At this point, it will surely be time for lunch. We recommend you to reach this small seaside enclave placed in the oriental coast of Formentera and enjoy a delicious fish and seafood paella at the restaurants Es Caló or Can Rafalet. In both cases, you´d better book before going.
6. Playa de Ses Illetes
Finally, as the icing on the cake of this first route of a day, the beach that has made Formentera so famous: Ses Illetes. With a total of 500 meter in length, this set of pristine sandy areas owes its beauty to the charming blue, turquoise and aquamarine tones of its waters. Its sandy sea bottoms with soft slopes, make it a highly recommendable beach for families with young children. If the wind blows from the West, as the eastern shore awaits a few meters away, a swim in the sea is assured ;-)
