Spring is the perfect season to visit Formentera, as the island is still away from the summer bustle and the weather, really nice in these months, allows to practice outdoor and aquatic activities. In this post we recommend you three plans to know Formentera by kayak, by bike or horse riding. Choose the activity you like most and book your ticket for your boat trip to Formentera.

1. Kayaking Trip

The beautiful beaches and coves of Formentera can be discovered from the sea during a kayaking trip along the coast. Although this sport doesn’t need a lot of practice due to its little difficulty, even if you are a beginner, you will find in the island tours guided by professionals and facilities to initiate this practice and ride safely. During this tour you will see several caves as the ones of Punta Rasa as well as the pristine seabed of Formentera, whose clearness is due to the prairies of oceanic Posidonia (seagrass) located between this island and Ibiza. Besides most of the organized trips offer the material and schedules to practice skin diving, which allows you to know better this natural treasure designated by the UNESCO part of the World Heritage. With a total 69 kilometres of coast, we recommend you to get some advice about the routes to go by, as some stretches, as “La Mola” Cliff, are only recommend to expert levels. You can arrange your kayaking trip at Formentera Nautic Centre, located at La Savina Port.

The island barely has a total area of 80 kilometres and few gradients, therefore it turns out to be an interesting destination to be discovered by bike. The island offers the bike rider no less than 32 green routes that make a total of 100 kilometres of itinerary, which go mainly through green trails, paths and bikeways. You will find really easy to start exploring the island by bike, since as soon as you arrive from our boat at Formentera's port you will see several rent-a-bike companies. You can choose either going first to the beautiful beach of Ses Illetes or postponing this beach till the end and visit first other beautiful parts of the island. We recommend you the Route number 8 that links Sant Francesc with Cap de Barbaria and Route number 20 that connects the western and the eastern coasts in a beautiful journey trough the Rural Formentera.
